'Travel through life with Marty and Melissa, but don't expect an easy ride!
Marty is a Tom-boy who knows what she wants, while Melissa would die for a new pair of shoes. Marty has a different kind of imagination, but her mum doesn't always see that as a good thing.
This story is easy to relate to. Every word shows a moment from the girls' lives. Jacqueline Wilson has written a diary all about the wonders (and lows) of being a sister.
So join Marty and Melissa. Enjoy it, but watch out! Trouble might be about! Find the sisterly love!'
Thanks for your review, Darcy.
Have you read any of Jacqueline Wilson's books? Which would you recommend?
I like the giraffe and the Pelly and me by Roald Dahl Illustrated by Quentin Blake:
ReplyDeleteI like because it has good characters and good pictures the best bit about it is long. it has no coloured pictures but it doesn't mater to me.
I like reading long books too, Lucy! Have you seen all of the Roald Dahl books in the school library? Help yourself to a pile of them for the Easter holidays!
DeleteA lovely review Darcy. I know lots of you love reading Jacqueline Wilson books. If you have read all her books or are looking for something new, then I have some recommendations that JW's fans might also like:
ReplyDelete- the Darcy Burdock series by Laura Dockrill.
- White Dolphin, Moon Bear or other books by Gill Lewis.
- anything by Morris Gleitzman.
- My Name is Mina by David Almond (a personal favourite author of mine!)
If you try any of these, let me know what you think.
I think Morris Gleitzman books are great - he has a brilliant sense of humour!
DeleteI hope this book review has inspired you to read more Jacqueline Wilson as she has written so many books and so many readers that love her . I hope you enjoy it just as much as i did!
